sinking
I’m falling
down into deep water
there’s no strength to push back and surface
no desire to try
let me give up
save me
take my hand
as I disappear
give me the gift of your breath
fill my lungs
let me live
falling
I’m leaving the light
it disappears
as my eyes close in enveloping dark
reach for me
I’m still here
sinking
do you love me
will I disappear
and leave no trace but who I tried to be
leave me
let me go
save me
afraid of the dark
I’m already gone
I can find no hope to outweigh this weight
my wings
don’t matter now
falling
not alone
but so lonely
this heart of mine was broken by too many
too much
I’m not enough
disappearing
I’m fading
my heart of fire
submerged in water until it drowns
my love
is all I can leave
unfair
to ask this
of you, I know
kiss my eyes as I sink further down
let the water
hold me
frozen
forever this moment
in liminal space
lasting forever waiting for a choice
I want to live
save me
